About Team RDR PDF Print E-mail
It is my belief that if a player was happy, if he felt as though he belonged to a team, then he would contribute more. Only those who play a team sport can fully appreciate the sense of pride in belonging to a team, the trust in the ability of your team mates... (Graham Mourie - All Blacks captain)

The concept behind putting this team together is from the belief of the words from Graham Mourie and identifying the problem young riders in NZ had being noticed, supported and promoted so they gain notoriety and the appropriate publicity to further their racing careers.

The strength of a team is much greater than that of several individuals.

For the 2008/2009 season of Road Racing we are continuing with a team of three riders for all major events.

The team is made up of three young riders who are the main focus of the team and who will be supported throughout the season by mechanics who are from a racing background also. The aims and objectives of this team is to provide a professional enviroment where these young riders are encouraged to meet their full protential, at the same time ensuring that their sponsors get full coverage in advertising their support to these young men.

It will ensure that they will learn communication skills, pride in what they are achieving, and responsibility not only to themselves but also to their sponsors and other members of their team.

Full support will be given to them in all aspects as well as mechanics available to resolve any mechanical requirements at all times.

Each of the riders profiles are included on this site so please look them up so you can see who the team are and what they are achieveing.

It is envisaged the Race Team concept could last several years as each year a new member could be brought into the team as others mover forward to the future. (i.e. Racing overseas.) The entry level will be in the 125GP class, moving up to the 600 Supersport class. The riders at Supersport level will also be able to pass on their experiences and knowledge to the newer riders.

This year Nicholas Cole who is 21 years old will be our senior rider, currently racing a Kawasaki 600ZXR Supersport. Nick will be passing on his experience and knowledge on a 600 to both Adam and James.
