The Classic Team was the start of the Red Devil Racing Team.
The Classic 3TA Triumphs came out of nowhere to a lot of people and were winning all the clubmans class races. They soon got the reputation of being referred to as "Those "Bloody Red Devils" so we adapted the name to suit.
The start of it all came with Graeme Cole building something different to play around with and then building one for his young 14 year old son Nicholas. The following year the little Red bikes started to expand with Rob Chappell being approached by Graeme in the pits at Taupo and saying "if you paint it Red it will go faster". So Rob joined the expanding group with a red 3TA.

Unfortunately being christmas time a lot of the riders had family and work comitments so couldn't make it to this series.
Chris Hyland and Noel Howard were the only Red Devil riders but he did us proud.
Chris was the only little Red Triumph there as Noel was on his big orange Harley due to his bike being still in the development department of Jimmys laboratory.
Sunday was practice day with the 3 hour endurance race int he afternoon. The endurance race was great to watch even with the dodgy weather.

Three meetings over the past few weeks have seen our team members battling it out between themselves.
First up saw Ray, Matt and Nick off to Manfield for the Victoria club round.
Matt was first up in the 150 class which had a few other groups thrown in for good measure. This saw a really larger field out there battling it out so was very hard to know how they were doing. Matt was midfield with his group and atthe end of the day was rapt to find he had taken a few more seconds of his times. He also won the bet he had with Ray that he would have the fastest lap time in the last race out of the two of them.

The boys are back at it again.
Over the last few weeks we have had some exciting racing between our team members.
It goes something like this.........
Manfield - Last round of the winter club series saw Ray, Nick and Matt out on their bikes with Matt in a large field of 150 riders, and Nick in the 600Supersport class.
Whilst Nick was using this for a chance to try out the wrist after his op, Matt was hard out on his 150. He was in an extremely large field of riders and managed to stay midfield of his group. He has found a hunger after riding his Dads (Ray) bike and it was a chance to show what he could do as he's hoping for a new bike for the 2010 season. It was a great day of racing and I had to look hard as a lot of the riders have changed bike brands and colours of their leathers since I last watched them.

The NZ Classic Motorcycle Racing Register held its points championship 30th August and Stephen Jones now leads after two rounds.
Young Matt Hayward was our stand out rider for this event as he was riding Rays (his dad) bike and wanted to prove he was ready to move up to something with a bit more power.
Stephen has shown that patience definitely pays and has gathered the points in nicely to go to the lead in the Championship. See results of our Red Devils below.
Whilst some of our riders have been out of action the rest of the team have kept the flag flying. Thanks and congratulations to you all.

The classic guys have had three rounds of late and there has been some shenanigans going on.
Bryan Dawson has fallen off three times with not a scratch or dent to be seen except maybe in the wallet as team rule is applied - fall off you shout!! This finishes off the meeting at the pub on the way home quite nicely.
This also gives you a clue as to where some of the ideas come from.
